Eleni Papanastasiou studied architecture at the NTUA (2006). Under the 2008-2010 Ful­bright Scholarship, she earned an Msc in Advanced Architectural Design from GSAPP, Columbia Universi­ty (2010), where she received the Lucille Smysel Lowenfish memorial Prize for design. She received her Ph.D from the NTUA (2015), for the purposes of which, she has also been Vis­iting Scholar at the UPenn School of Design (2013), researcher at the Kahn Collection in Philadelphia as well as at the Barnett Newman archive in New York. She was further trained in Photography at the International Centre of Photography (continuing education, 2010) and in paint­ing at Cooper Union (continuing education, 2010).

Since 2010, she runs a design studio in Athens, Greece (www.elenipapanastasiou.com). While dedicated to Architecture, the studio further engages in the practice of the Arts and of Research, producing Scenography for opera and theatre, Installations, Photography and Objects. Her method is cross- disciplinary, experimenting with the collaboration of the arts. She has delivered architectural projects that range in scale and complexity through commission and competition. Set designs and instal­lations have been presented in institutions such as the Athens and Epidaurus Festival, the National Theatre of Greece, the SNFCC, Onasis Stegi. Her work has been exhibited (eg. Athens Photo Festival 2017, Still Here Tomorrow SNFCC 2019, Domes 2013), awarded (e.g. Artworks Fellowship 2018, Great 2013) and published. Previously, she worked at Kokkinou Kourkoulas and Associates. Since 2017, she is Adjunct professor at the School of Architecture, University of Patras. She has collaborated in teachings at the Schools of Architecture of the NTUA and of the University of Thessaly.
