The objective of the course is an in-depth look at a small area of the city, measuring a couple of blocks. Lectures and workshops aim at making students aware of urban environment’s extreme complexity, and of the variety of active agents that shape it; attention is focused on comprehending the dynamics of its production and on exploring the means at our disposal to modify it, and the feasibility of such modifications. The measures proposed may reach from planning strategies for improving the case-study area, to design of some parts thereof, to changes -by means of communication techniques- of the way people perceive it.
