With the thematic title 'Chasing Greek-ness: The Case of Paradeisios Avenue,' the course examines Patision Street as a complex field for reading the modern Greek city. The historiographical reference to the 'Paradise' serves as a starting point for exploring the axis's transformations: from the suburban landscape of gardens and orchards to institutions, apartment buildings, the commercial front, and today’s city of reutilizations and multiple identities.

Through the methodology of Aphaeresis, archival research, and critical representation, students record and evaluate the visible and hidden layers of the existing environment. The research leads to formulating selective strategies of removal, preservation, revelation, reuse, and transformation, on scales ranging from the arcade, the ground floor, and the courtyard to the building block and the entire axis.
