Born in Eleusis (1960). Diploma of Architecture, National Technical University of Athens (1984), M.A. Conservation, IoAAS, University of York (1989). Doctoral thesis: “The Katholikon of the Vatopedi Monastery. History and Architecture”, NTUA / History of Architecture (2001). External Lecturer, Restoration Techniques, Postgraduate Program, NTUA (1998-2009). Assistant Professor in the Department of Architecture, University of Patras. (2005). Associate Professor (2015). Teaching in the Postgraduate Program “Archaeology, City and Architecture” (since 2008). His research focuses mainly on the architecture of Byzantine and post-Byzantine church architecture, medieval and modern military architecture, neoclassical architecture and town planning, pre-industrial technology and conservation issues (over 160 publications and 170 presentations in conferences and scientific meetings).
