Annita Douka, Katia Milia-Argeiti

The design thesis concerns three proposals for spaces hosting local collectivities in the center of Athens. At the core of the composition lies the basic unit of urban habitation, polykatoikia, which, along with many other institutions of Athenian life, is nowadays intensely questionned. In the proposals, the structure of polykatoikia is decomposed and reconstituted as a creative architectural vocabulary that can offer solutions adapted to urban life requirements.
