Tokyo bay pier is a large scale study intending to construct a new way of dwelling related to Tokyo Bay’s context while at the same time to integrate Olympic village’s culture. Located on the intersection of the heritage centre and the Tokyo Bay centre, this proposal becomes a linear mega structure aiming to connect these high importance regions as an urban platform. ‘Void’ is used as a tool to sculpt the platform creating relations between different programs, events, facilities and living conditions. The entire infrastructure relies on columns, releasing the water surface and creating piers which serve individual and public needs. This project is a symbiosis between inhabited voids and public surfaces forming a contemporary pier in the heart of Tokyo Bay, responding to the emerging changes of the city’s landscape while at the same time celebrates the spirit of Olympism.
